Panchakarma Treatment in Dubai

Classical Ayurvedic cleansing in 7, 14 or 21-day programmes, in Jumeirah 1

Panchakarma is Ayurveda's classical cleansing programme. It has three phases: preparation with medicated ghee, oil massage and steam; one or more of the five main therapies (Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshana); and a gradual recovery diet. At RamaCare Polyclinic in Jumeirah 1, Dubai, Dr. Shamna Keloth Meethal (BAMS) decides whether it suits you and plans a 7, 14 or 21-day programme after a consultation from AED 200. Kerala-trained therapists of your own gender give the therapies.

Treatment Overview

Understanding Panchakarma Treatment

What is Panchakarma Treatment?

Panchakarma is a traditional Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation therapy designed to remove accumulated toxins (Ama) from the body, restore the balance of the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — and support overall wellness naturally. This holistic Ayurvedic treatment combines herbal therapies, medicated oils, cleansing procedures, therapeutic massages, and lifestyle guidance to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.At RamaCare Polyclinic, our Panchakarma therapy in Dubai is customized according to your body constitution, health concerns, and wellness goals to ensure safe and effective healing.

Who Can Benefit from Panchakarma?

Panchakarma therapy may benefit individuals experiencing:

  • •Chronic fatigue and low energy levels
  • •Digestive disorders and toxin accumulation
  • •Stress, anxiety, and mental exhaustion
  • •Joint pain, arthritis, or muscle stiffness
  • •Skin concerns, allergies, and inflammation
  • •Lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and metabolic imbalance
  • •Poor sleep quality and weakened immunity
  • •General body detoxification and rejuvenation needs

Why People Choose Panchakarma

In Ayurveda, weak digestion (Agni) leaves undigested residue (Ama) that disturbs Vata, Pitta and Kapha. People looking for Panchakarma in Dubai usually book it for long-standing digestive, skin, joint, stress or weight concerns, or as a yearly Ayurvedic detox at a change of season.

Long-Standing Digestive Problems

Bloating, acidity, constipation or heaviness after meals that keep returning; Ayurveda links them to weak Agni and Ama.

Common

Panchakarma for Back Pain and Joint Stiffness

Recurring stiffness in the back, neck or knees, often linked to Vata; Basti is the classical therapy for Vata.

Common

Panchakarma for Psoriasis and Skin Conditions

Psoriasis, eczema and acne that flare repeatedly; Virechana and Raktamokshana are traditionally used for Pitta-related skin conditions.

Common

Stress, Poor Sleep and Fatigue

Long working hours and irregular sleep; supporting therapies such as Shirodhara are traditionally used alongside the programme.

Common

Panchakarma for Weight Loss (Kapha)

Heaviness, sluggish metabolism and weight gain; Vamana and Udwarthanam are traditionally used for Kapha.

Common

A Yearly Reset

Many people book Panchakarma once a year, often at a change of season, as preventive care.

What Are the 5 Treatments of Panchakarma?

Panchakarma means "five actions". RamaCare offers all five; most people need only one to three, chosen by the doctor.

Vamana (therapeutic emesis)Controlled, medicine-induced vomiting, done once in the morning after preparation, to clear excess Kapha from the stomach and chest. Traditionally used for Kapha conditions such as some respiratory, skin and weight concerns.
Virechana (therapeutic purgation)Medicated purgation to clear excess Pitta from the liver and intestines. Traditionally used for Pitta conditions such as acidity, heat and some skin problems.
Basti (medicated enema)Herbal decoction and oil enemas given as a course. Considered the main therapy for Vata: joints, back, digestion and nerves. See Basti therapy in Dubai.
Nasya (nasal therapy)Medicated oil or herbal drops through the nose, for conditions of the head, sinuses and neck. See Nasya (Nasyam) therapy in Dubai.
Raktamokshana (bloodletting)Removal of a small amount of blood, including the gentle method of leech therapy (Jalaukavacharana). Traditionally used for certain skin and blood-related conditions.

The Three Phases of Panchakarma

1. Purva Karma (preparation)Snehapana (small doses of medicated ghee for a few days), daily Kerala Ayurvedic massage in Dubai (Abhyanga), Swedana (herbal steam) and sometimes Patrapottali (herbal leaf bolus), to loosen Ama and prepare the body.
2. Pradhana Karma (main cleansing)One or more of the five therapies, chosen by the doctor, with rest on cleansing days.
3. Paschat Karma (recovery)Samsarjana Krama: a gradual diet from thin rice gruel back to normal food over several days, plus Rasayana (rejuvenation) when suitable.

How Long Does Panchakarma Take? 7, 14 and 21-Day Programmes

7-day PanchakarmaA shorter programme: preparation and a focused main therapy, or a yearly maintenance course.
14-day PanchakarmaPreparation, main cleansing and recovery for most adults with long-standing concerns.
21-day PanchakarmaA deeper programme for chronic conditions, for example a full Basti course.
The right length depends on your assessment. Programmes are outpatient: you come to the clinic for your sessions and go home afterwards. The consultation is from AED 200; the programme cost is confirmed in writing after the consultation, before you start.

When Is the Best Time for Panchakarma in Dubai?

Traditionally, Kerala Ayurveda considers Karkidakam (mid-July to mid-August, the monsoon month) the most favourable season for Panchakarma, known as Karkidaka Chikitsa.
Ayurveda also recommends cleansing at a change of season (Ritu Sandhi), so many people choose the spring and autumn transitions (around March–April and October–November).
In Dubai all therapies are given indoors, so Panchakarma can be done in any month. Many patients plan it during the summer holidays or the Karkidakam month.
If you fast during Ramadan, plan Panchakarma before or after Ramadan, as the programme needs a specific diet.
How often: once a year is common for prevention; the doctor may suggest twice a year for some conditions.

How to Prepare for Panchakarma, and What to Do After

Before: tell the doctor about all your medicines and health conditions, keep your work schedule light, and avoid alcohol and heavy meals for a few days.
During: eat the light, warm diet advised, rest well, avoid cold drinks, strong air-conditioning drafts, midday sun, heavy exercise and late nights.
After: follow the step-by-step recovery diet (Samsarjana Krama) for several days, return to normal food gradually, and attend your follow-up.
On cleansing days (Vamana, Virechana) you may feel tired, so plan to rest at home that day.

Who Should Not Have Panchakarma (or Should Wait)?

The doctor checks your health first. Panchakarma, or some of its therapies, may be postponed or not suitable if you:

are pregnant or breastfeeding
have a fever, an active infection or are menstruating (some therapies are postponed)
have severe heart, kidney or liver disease
have uncontrolled blood pressure or diabetes
are recovering from surgery, very weak or frail
Vamana in particular is not given to children, older adults or people with heart disease. If needed, our general physician in the same building can check you before you start.
